paradisa | (no subject)

[What ho Paradisa. If you are the lobby now, you might find a somewhat unusual sight: three kids - well, two kids and one young teenager, really, the teenager conspicuously naked and sprawled out on one of the lobby couches. The teenager has long blue hair and is filthy. The kids are relatively clean, one of them - the older boy - graced with a crown of pale blond hair, the other a smaller little girl wearing a traditional robe and black pigtails. There's a journal nearby of course, and it picks up a voice which might sound a bit familiar:]

Hey... person! Hey! How come you're naked?

[Then the younger boy:] Because he's got no clothes, stupid.

I'm not stupid! [That seems to rile the little girl up; she gives the boy next to her a push.

It looks like this minor ruckus is enough to wake the third boy anyhow.] Whuh...?

Oh, hey, it's okay, you guys. I'm not gonna hurtcha. [he holds up his hands] My name's Ray... did you all just get here? [and he'll crouch down and offer Legato the blanket]

My name is Asano Rin! My Dad is in charge of the Asano dojo! [Super formal for a second, kind of.] Yuh-huh, we just got here, but I know I was here before. His name is Zelman. [She points at Zelman. She doesn't introduce Legato because she doesn't know his name.]

H-Hey, don't tell him... [gosh, everyone will know his name at this rate. D:]

[he's just letting the other two talk, distracted by this guy and what they're saying and looking at the blanket like he doesn't know what he's supposed to do with it. doop.]

[once it clicks for Ray that Legato isn't going to take the blanket, he'll just --- drape it around him, sdfhdjfk. there. see? now no one needs to worry about why there's a young boy missing his clothing.]

Nice to meet you both... That's funny, though, I have a friend here named Zelman. I didn't think it was that common of a name.

Maybe it's his dad.

Nuh-uh. Not his name.

[fidgety.] It's just mine.

[gfhjk the bits of chain jangle as he sort of fumbles to deal with the blanket dropped on him! give him a sec to sort that out and properly pull it around himself]

Huh. Well, it's still nice to meet you all. ... Are you guys hungry? Kitchen's right over there, I can help you find something to --

[and then he hears the chains and stares a little in shock]

-- What happened to you, kiddo...?

He's naked and got chains on him! It's just terrible!

[That was

a great observation, right.]

They're not connected to anything. [also a great observation.]

[jeez, he finds that having a pair of kids around to blurt things out about him is surprisingly unnerving. he pulls his shackled hands into the blanket]

Nothing.

[he's not sure what bothers him more, Zelman and Rin's lack of knowledge, or the chained boy's lack of honesty. either way, his protective radar spikes, and he pouts]

Even if they're not connected, maybe we should find someone who can help us get them off, yeah?

[That just gets a "well obviously" look.]

Yeah.

[that seems like... sound logic. nodding.]

[he still seems... vastly uncomfortable about this whole thing, but... he doesn't put up a verbal protest.

After all, he would like them to be removed, and vaguely remembers it happening before?

Taking a chance, he gives a hesitating nod]

Okay, good. ... I know I've got something that could probably cut through up in my room, if you guys want to wait here a minute? [he figures that's a little better than a strange grown man asking three kids up to his room, ffff]

M'kay...

...Yeah. Okay.

[...fine, a little nod.]

[and Ray will scurry off to his room, coming back a short while later with some bolt cutters --- and a shaggy sheepdog who didn't have the sense or desire to stay put in his room like his master wanted him to. he bounds up to the three kids, woofing happily]

Blue, no. Don't -- get back, Blue, come on, give 'em a break ...

Ahhh, your dog is big! [She stumbles backwards when Blue comes up to her and tries to pet his head at the same time as he's shoving his nose in her face. It's a little hard.]

[Zelman was a little on-edge until he noticed that the weird animal bounding towards them is completely harmless.]

That's a dog? [it looks more like a mop.]

[yeah no, you guys have fun with the dog. he's just gonna... clamber to his feet and shuffle back a ways, glaring at it a little.

not an animal person, apparently.]

Yeah, this is Blue -- [Ray finally catches up with him and grabs him by the collar, silently wishing up his leash so he can clip it on. winding the bulk of the lead around his hand, he reins him in] -- don't worry, he's a big softie. He's just really excited about meeting new people. Lemme -- lemme just clip his leash to the railing over there so he'll stay out of the way and we'll see about getting those chains off ...
