rose: come to
[Waking up to the stark lights of a clinic is never a totally pleasant experience, and after spending precisely a year aboard a meteor in the time since she last recalls seeing Paradisa, it takes Rose several minutes to fully realize her surroundings. In fact, once she finally comes around, it occurs to her that maybe she never left at all. The meteor might have been some elaborate dream, induced by a bump on the head.
But if that were the case, she would not still be in her god tier garb.
The situation becoming completely clear to her, Rose reaches for the journal. She has no idea how long she's been out, and finding that out is the first matter of business.]
... Brushing aside the film cliche of this inquiry - would someone mind telling me what the date is?
[Filtered separately to John Egbert and Kanaya Maryam]
I would like to speak with you if you have the time.

[Rose]
[ So sit tight, because John's already rushing down to where you are! ]

... Did you get taller?

OH GOD FEELINGS. She looks up at him, and smiles, deeply and genuinely - and right on the verge of tearfully. There is so much profundity in this meeting, so many things that he doesn't even know, that she has to keep herself from saying. She's a bit mute for once, trying to sort it all out.]... Yes. Yes, I believe that I have.

John lands on his feet and walks slowly over towards her, quiet for a minute before finally offering a- ]
I like your new outfit. It looks good on you.

[Her voice is calm and controlled, but her cheeks flush just a bit. For a moment she looks away, out the window-
Nope not gonna pull the whole distant act right now. With no warning at all, Rose swoops forward and gathers him up in a tight, warm hug.]
I've missed you.
no subject
You weren't out for that long.
no subject
[Just settling her head on his shoulder right now, totally ignorant to the fact that just a few months ago Paradisa-time, she would have sooner run away screaming than done this.]
It's been quite a bit longer for me, John.
no subject
How much longer?
no subject
[She finally pulls back from the hug, to get a good look at him. After watching Dave age up along with her, it's a bit disorienting to see John still looking very much thirteen.]
no subject
Wow... that really is a long time. But you saw me back in the other universe, right?
no subject
I'm sorry.
no subject
Oh... So what happened then?
no subject
[She walks past him as she says this, over to the window. Sunlight and greenery has never looked more welcoming.]
As for the rest, I don't know how much is my place to tell.

[ He's following after her, trying to stand on his tiptoes to see what she's looking at. ]
I don't mind spoilers. It's not like I will remember anything when I go home anyways.
no subject
We managed to scratch the game.
no subject
He doesn't like the way she's making this all sound though. ]
Did it fix everything?
no subject
Not yet. But it did work.
no subject
So that's why you haven't seen me in a year! Wow... but we're on our way to sorting it out at least, right? Or at least you are, even if I am doing something else for some reason.
no subject
We all are, albeit a bit... separately.
no subject
[ Staring at her intently. He's waiting to heeeeaaar. ]
no subject
[She turns, and stares right back.]
We're all unharmed, though, relatively. That's what matters.
no subject
[ Soon is more relative than John understands. ]
no subject
Yes, that was my attempted meaning. I wasn't sure it was something you would care to hear about.
no subject
I definitely care to hear about that kind of stuff! It's kind of a big deal.
