I know many of you are on the expedition and I do not wish to take too much of your time, but there are two recent arrivals I believe I need mention.

First, you may or may not be aware of the arrival of a certain Elizabeth Tudor. Regardless, she bears both my face and my voice. I hope that this does not cause any more confusion than necessary. [And yes, while she knows that Elizabeth is a queen, she’s rather oblivious as to how much of a big freaking deal she is.]

Secondly, I would announce the recent arrival of my husband, the Lord Celeborn. I know I need not ask ask it, but I do hope you will show him the same courtesy and kindness you have shown me.

[She also probably should have remembered to filter this away from either of the two mentioned, but it rather slipped her mind.]

I would speak to you, in particular, regarding the second matter when you have a moment to spare.

[You can also find Galadriel in town today, pausing in front of a store window every so often. Almost as if she’s considering something. Hmm…]

No, we don't have royalty where I come from. We sort of fired them... it's kind of a long story so..

You'd say something if I did something disrespectful, right?

Is that your understated way of speaking of a revolt? [Mild amusement aside...] Of course. But you have not; I daresay you have been more respectful than most.

It was called a revolution. [So yes.] Really? I don't know very much about royalty. I'm glad I didn't give you a bad impression when it comes to Americans.

A much more pleasant name for it. [Is that a touch of sass? Yes, it is.]

Allow me to tell something, then; the proper protocol matters far less to me than the respect behind it. And you have shown no shortage of that.

Such things matter little here. With so many customs intermingling, we must each learn to be patient and understanding.

Well we're a country filled with all kinds of people from different places. We don't always get along, but the point is we try to. Your attitude is what America strives for.

[She's smiling, even if he can't see it.] I am an immigrant of sorts myself. [Exile, but who's counting?] The land I rule is not my native one and the tongue I speak there is not my mothertongue. Lothlórien is itself populated by a mix of Sindar and Noldor. I know better than most the importance of such things.

I don't know anything about Sindar or Noldor, but it's always nice to know someone else sees the importance of trying to get along with everyone no matter how different we are.
