[Things have been getting increasingly quiet for Spike recently. So many of the people he cares about have gone home, likely to never remember him again. It's made him understandably paranoid, and one voice has been absent for a while. So, heading off through the castle, he went to the room of a special pony.

...And finds the news, deep down, he was expecting. Well, at least she'd remember him, back home. That's a little comfort. Still, he sounds sad as he opens up the journal]

For anypony who knew her, Princess Cadence has gone home.

...I guess she'll be happier there. She has Shining Armour back home, and her honeymoon to go to.

I guess I just miss a lot of people lately.

They'll be there when you get back.

...Until then, what do you like to do for fun?

Yeah, she will.

[Pause] Well, all kinds of things. I really like video games?

[whistles_the_blues]

I can't say I've ever really played any.

I'll a few with you, if you'll teach me. How does that sound?

Uh huh. She's from my world.

You still have some other friends from your world here, don't you?

Uh huh. I have Princess Luna and Twilight.

[yep, mixed feelings about this]

I am sorry to hear of this, Spike.

[They are the worst kinds of feelings]

Will you be okay? I mean, she was family.

[doublethefun]

[something of a wince in her voice] Unfortunately, I did not spend as much time with her as I would have liked.

But you'll have plenty of time for that back home, right?

She was... very kind.

[huffythedragon]

She is. Her magic is love, so she's always real good at that.

I believe that.

[That gives him the warm fuzzies alone, just being called that]

I will be. I know that she's happier back home.

Spike for all time.

[She'll call him that again, don't worry.]

Doesn't make it easier right now, though, does it?

[He’s quiet for a moment, before sighing]

No, I guess not. I’ll miss her.

[ Pfft. She thinks.. he's a little kid or something. ]

I am sorry that your friend returned.

NEVER and forever!

[She wouldn't be far off]

It's okay, I know she's happier back home. Her husband is there.

[emboldens]

That may be true, but that does not ease the hurt that loss brings.

Just remember that you will see her again, and I am certain she would not want you to feel sorrow. She would only want to see your smile.

I guess not, I mean, I'll still miss her.

Oh she would. She has power over love, you see. So she'd want everypony to be happy.
