Wonderland: Day One

[wonderlandian]

The residents of Paradisa who ventured into the lobby on the 13th would find something new there; a mirror spanning an entire wall. Given recent happenings, who can blame them if they're cautious? Trouble is, this mirror seems to really want to bring people in, because you don't have to get too close before you're through the looking glass.

Once you've gone, you may find that you're not quite yourself.

[Notes/Reminders: Type 1 and Type 2 characters will believe they are Wonderland natives. All characters, including those not entering Wonderland, will be able to use their journals; Wonderland "natives" will think it is a communication device exclusive to Wonderland, although communication between Paradisa and Wonderland through the journals is absolutely possible. You may NPC any number of Tulgey Wood creatures, except for the Jabberwocky.]

There's always somewhere, you've just got to have a bit of hope.

[He'll chuckle]

Don't you worry, it'll take me a second.

[He'll tap his foot on the ground and oh look, a burrow is forming in the ground. Maaagic]

[wolfchild]

[ Arya climbs on Bunny's back again. ]

Down!

[scinlae]

[ Morgana laughs, unsure whether she should be amazed or confused. ]

Where does it lead?

[Go for all of the above. Bunny chuckles, arching an eyebrow at her]

You'd have to follow to see.

[And he'll just drop down. It's not as much as a vertical drop as his burrow in the castle's gardens, after all, he's made it in mind for the humans, more than him. And inside, there's a nice spacious cavern]

I'll need to find some things to make a fire and something to make a bed for you ladies, but I think it'll do in a pinch.

[wolfchild]

[ Arya pulls one of his ears. ]

I'm not a lady.

[ Hopping down, she waits for her eyes to adjust to the change in light. ] I'm used to sleeping on the floor. As long as it's not mud, I'm fine.

[scinlae]

[ She follows, at first with hesitation that slowly melts away into... well a bit of wonder really when she sees the cavern.

A six foot tall rabbit capable of impressive feats of magic, she thinks herself even madder how much it fills her with relief. ]

She is a wolf. [ Morgana adds, head titled slightly to the side. They have calmed her considerably, she is no longer so frantic but still there are cracks. ]

A wolf has no need for beds, am I correct?

[thatrabbitsdynamite]

[Ow his ear] Right. I'll remember that. A wolf it is.

[He'll chuckle a little at that]

But they make all the difference for a good night's sleep.

[wolfchild]

We can find some fresh rushes to lay down.

[scinlae]

[ She smiles. ]

Sweet Rabbit, I never get a good night's sleep, but your concern is touching.

[ If he wants to whip up some beds he can, but it will make no difference to her. Chances are she will not sleep, or maybe she will, perhaps she will fall asleep into a deep and dreamless sleep.

That would be nice. ]

[thatrabbitsdynamite]

Well, you could use a fire regardless. We don't know how cold it'd get here at night. And as for a bed? It's something always handy anyway.

I'll be back before you know it.

[And he'll be heading off out of the burrow to the outside]

[wolfchild]

[ Arya picks a good patch of floor to sit down. When Bunny's gone, she looks at Morgana. ]

Why were you alone?

[scinlae]

[ She watches the exit until Arya speaks, turning her head to face the girl.

The face is the same but her eyes, they look older, they have seen too much. ]

I didn't want to see that face again, it isn't supposed to be here, so it can't be real. I ran from it, from him.

[wolfchild]

From who?

[scinlae]

A man I loved, a man who left.

[wolfchild]

I'm sorry.

[scinlae]

Don't be. [ She smiles sadly. ] I've just gone mad, it will pass. [ It has to pass. ]

Your hair is shorter.

[wolfchild]

[ She runs a hand through the shorn ends. ]

I had to keep it short so I wouldn't be raped on the way.

[scinlae]

[ Unlike others she does not gape, instead her expression is understanding. ]

You did what you had to do.

[wolfchild]

I didn't do it. Yoren cut it.

[scinlae]

Yoren? [ A MAN RIGHT? What a shitty job he did. ]

[wolfchild]

He promised to get me home. He died.

[scinlae]

I'm sorry. [ She shifts before moving over to join Arya. ]

[wolfchild]

[ She shrugs faintly. Yoren made her a promise, but so did a lot of people. They all died. ]
