You can have him wear a Santa hat or something for Christmas if we're still around by then.

Are we really the kind of people to dress up our dog?

[It's okay to say "our" because it's a Bat thing.]

I don't know if we can really judge people for dressing up their animals.

[Smirks. Ace trots over to them a few seconds later and drops the stick by Tim.]

Right. Because of the [she mimics the bat ears] and the... [she just sort of makes a beak with her index fingers, by her nose. Silly cowl.]

[dorkwonder]

Exactly. [Ruffles in between Ace's ears before he picks up the stick.] That being said, I think we can exclude Ace from our craziness.

We can settle for appropriately colored collars, though.

[dorkwonder]

[Hands the stick over to her so she can throw it this time. Ace barks eagerly, looking up at her with excited eyes.]

Can we go with red instead of pink for Valentine's Day? Bruce would find himself cringing in whatever world he's in, the second we put a pink collar with a heart id tag on Ace.

I said nothing about a heart ID tag, but I like it.

[She grins, and tosses the stick. Ace takes off after it, through the snow.]

[Slides his hands inside of his pocket to help keep them warm. He's not sure what's more dangerous; the two of them yelling at each other, or getting along so well. Steals a glance over at her.]

[Naturally, she was stealing a glance over at him at exactly the same moment. It's strange, how fast they can swing from arguing to... this. It's almost as if there wasn't a ton of messy history between the two of them.

Still, she quickly averts her eyes when she meets his. Whoops.]

[Please bring back that stick for a distraction.]

[Their eyes meet long enough for him to feel a strange mix of emotions. Like Steph, he quickly looks away from her and glances down at the ground which has suddenly become incredibly interesting.

What does he say to not make this awkward? He doesn't trust his voice enough right now to not come out sounding awkward, sooo....he opts for silence.

Silence and snowflakes.]

[The silence isn't helping. Steph breaks it by chatting away at Ace, "who'sagoodboy"-ing and brushing some of the snow off of his fur.]

[It's a little known fact that Tim's full name is Timothy "How-do-feelings" Drake-Wayne. Why can't he be more like Dick? Dick hangs around his exes and never looks nervous or anxious in any way.]

Do you want to head to town? I haven't spent much time there yet. Unless you think everything is closed.

Town is good. It doesn't matter if stuff is closed, you can still get the lay of the land.

[dorkwonder]

[Reattaches the leash to Ace's collar.]

Point. Do you know of anything that might be open this late?

[Nudges Ace forward and the two of them begin to head towards the town.]

There's a diner or two. [Or whatever bars there are, but she's not even going to try that joke.] Maybe I'll buy you a milkshake, if I'm in a good mood.

[dorkwonder]

I wouldn't say no to some curry. [Whatever kind of curry it is they have here.

If none of the places have curry and the castle doesn't either, then Tim is done with the castle. There are a lot of things he can deal with, living in a world without curry is one of them.]

Find me a diner that serves curry.

[dorkwonder]

Think it's too late to--[Ask Kara to help them track it down, is what he wanted to ask. Until he remembers that she brought up the whole curry thing after she mentioned the kiss he shared with Cassie.] get both of them? Then again, maybe we'll find a diner that serves both.

[secondchances]

[She gives a him a curious look, then shrugs.]

Worst case scenario is that we find only milkshakes and burgers and pizza, then head back here and see what we can do about that curry.

All acceptable alternatives. We should get a doggie bag for Ace, too.

[Ace barks happily. Ace doesn't know why his name was used, but he likes the tone Tim said it in.]

Ah, how things look up. It's going to be nice not being the only one responsible for feeding this garbage disposal.

[dorkwonder]

Technically, that responsibility is still falling on you since you're footing the bill. Does the castle have cans of dog food available?

And it does, but we don't do cans very often. We do bags. Giant, 50-pound bags that ace goes through pretty quickly.
