It's odd how we all tend to come together for an event, no matter what the case is.

[Those who know her, there is your signature commentary on the day's events, as given to you by your favorite private investigator.

Honestly, in spite of the individualistic nature that most of us are incline to cling to, there is rarely an event that is proposed by the masses that goes ignored. Those who tend to stay quiet are still there "to see what all the fuss is about" for one reason or the other, even though it's obvious that they would like to be part of the status quo in one way or the other.

[Okay, she's made a point. She should probably close that journal now that she has it out.

I'm inclined to admit the fact that I'm starting to oblige myself as well. It's "something to do", it's something to break yourself free of the monotony of perfection that the castle provides us. For people who tend to have their acquaintances from home leave over and over again, it's a way to familiarize oneself with good will and social circles, even if a person doesn't exactly feel "at home" with the people there to begin with.

[Wait? Feelings? Talking? About some degree of sentimentality? What...]

I suppose that's something that someone like myself can call familiar, though.

[With that out of the way, Kalinda's staring the journal idly. She doesn't particularly like broadcasting herself in this thing, but she sure likes scouring it for information! And you know, idle chatter.]

This place never ceases to surprise me-- and this is coming from someone who was rarely surprised back home. People are often predictable, and read easily at that. As different as we all seem to be, it's oddly strange how there are more similarities than one might think. There's just these universal truths... I guess here, they literally transcend universes.

Not to give in to the philosophical, by any means.

That being said, I have to ask what it is about this place that has surprised you the most. Be it the company we're sharing or what this place is capable of. Whatever. I'd hate to be caught off guard by the next extraneous circumstance.

[Here, journal. Have the most annoyed accusatory tone in the world as sticky fingers attempt to turn the pages.]

[Now, Kalinda hadn't found waking up next to a stranger a new thing by any means, though in a castle where she knew next to little about the residents themselves? That was certainly something a little different.

She'll pause for a moment, staring down at the women before her. Oh, naked. That's... well. Okay, she can understand that. Because, well--

Oh, well. Never mind that! Why doesn't she remember this?

She'll tentatively move a hand to the woman's shoulder, applying just enough pressure to allow for a subtle motion.]

[there’s a groan and Isabela finally opens her eyes, squinting at the form next to her.

[To which Kalinda offers the woman but a simple glance, relaxing only in the sense of pressing her back against her headboard. She'll look down, perhaps let her eyes linger for a moment, before catching the woman's eyes again.]

Is there a reason I don't... exactly remember this?

[She won't make a move to reach for the covers; it's not as thought it would help any.] I'm sure I would have remembered a woman who-- Well.

[Isabela sits up, stretching luxuriously. Shame? What’s that?]

Either we got completely drunk off our asses and managed not to get a hangover, or the castle is up to its tricks again.

[glancing around at the Valentine’s Day decorations] Or I’ve started sleep walking right into other people’s beds. [hm] I wonder how plausible an excuse that is.

[And a glance before allowing her eyes to raise to the ceiling. Well, if she has to stretch...]
