It’s Carol’s birthday and she hasn’t told anyone about it. Maybe because she doesn’t want anyone to make a big deal about it, maybe because she doesn’t think anyone would really be that interested in celebrating it with her. Either way she doesn’t exactly want anyone to know.

But there are subtle hints from her behaviour throughout the day. She walks through the trees outside the Castle and through the corridors of the Castle itself, unconsciously humming ‘Happy Birthday’ under her breath. Anyone with a good ear would most likely catch it.

Anyone who’s in the kitchens during the day might spot her at the side counter, a single cupcake with a candle in it. She blows it out.] Another year older…

[She hated to admit it but she owed Stark for the information, she knew how to use the journal system and more over how to exclude people or even cast a generalized net for the sort of information she needed, in this case it was medical.]

I need to know where I can get my hands on some basic medical supplies; sutures, antibiotics, gauze, pain killers would if possible. I can administer them myself, I just need access to them.

[there are soft sounds, distant sort of muttering musings one makes when looking around. Some jostling of the journal had apparently knocked it open and that was why things were so indistinct.

But they were definitely sounds of rummaging, searching, inspecting. The occasional note of surprise or consternation seemed to follow the progress about the room. The the soft creak of a door followed by a rather dramatic gasp.

A long, low whistle.

And the sounds of running water. Guess who just discovered the bathrooms all have hot running water showers?

For the next thirty minutes all the sounds that came through were those of blissfully self indulgent soaking and using more hot water than she had dared in years. Really, those low moans and appreciative sighs were sincere, when you live in space showers are not a thing that could be splurged on.]

Let's talk break-ups.

Suppose you're dating someone with super powers or magic or something. How do you break up with them as gently as possible so they don't totally freak out and destroy everything around them? Break ups are really delicate things, you know? Magic and stuff just makes it super hard.

I don't know why I'm doubting myself. I mean, I did it before so I should do it again, right? I know what he's capable of, and that's not something I want to happen again. But he technically hasn't even done it yet from his point in the timeline. Maybe he's from an alternate timeline where he's totally rational about things!

No, no matter what he still deserves the honest truth. Maybe I could bring back up. Do we have any kind of super man or lady out there that can just sit in the back of the restaurant as extra insurance?
