#007 The Roaring Twenties

[It's that time of the month again! The Host Club is once more opening its doors for business, this time with a couple of new additions and a couple of losses... The ballroom has been completely transformed into a 1920s style speakeasy.
A few hosts are serving behind the bar, namely Allen, Maladict and Cole, all of them dressed in this bartender outfit. The rest of the hosts are dotted around the room dressed in this attractive outfit, complete with the hat. There are two notable exceptions to this - one of which is Haruhi, who is dressed in a flapper dress, and Tamaki who is dressed in a white suit.
There are tables for playing poker, chips provided, as well as three American Pool tables to have a go on. By the door, there are racks of dresses and suits in 1920s style, in case any of the guests wish to take part in the theme themselves - manning the racks is Delta, instructed to persuade the guests to take part and compliment them on their new look.
Come on and all and enjoy the club!]

And ideally somebody who can explain to her how human card games work.]

...
okay assuming the castle put her on an age up loss for now. Or something.]
...Vriska?
no subject
No - Vriska is my descendant. Honestly, you should confuse her for me. But that doesn't matter. [she points at the cards] How does one play?
no subject
H-Huh? You mean poker?

Each player is dealt five cards, an ante is put into the pot in order to join the game. After looking at their hand and determining how good it is, the players then have a round of betting - if they all 'check', that means no bet is placed. If the first person places a bet (for example, one chip), all the other players must bet one chip to remain in the game. If they don't bet, they must 'fold', which means to be out of that hand of the game. If a player is confidant in their hand, they may raise the bet (for example, player one has bet one chip, player two may bet two chips). This then means everyone must bet two chips to stay in, and the original better must add an extra chip to make up the difference.
When that round of betting is complete, the players may then discard between 1-4 cards of their hand, and request the same amount from the dealer. Another round of betting then happens, and a final exchange of cards. After the final round of betting, players show their hands and the player with the highest hand wins.

What beauty is this, that has come to test her coin at the table?

[A smile.]
And what human is this, so bold at his first meeting with a grey-skinned stranger?
no subject
I am Suoh Tamaki, princess, King of the Host Club.

[pause]
Though what, dare I ask, is a "Host Club?"
no subject
It is a place where the beautiful can be entertained by the handsome.

[Don't be too offended - she's still too used to grey skin and horns. Humans are just weird looking.]

...maybe meeting her in the flesh is a bad idea. So he'll just try to quietly wheel himself back around, and knock something over in the process. Because his life is pain.]
...Oh no.

Oh look, another wiggler. And what sort of contraption is this?
[She gestures to the wheelchair. Not something most pirates get the chance to see in their day to day lives.]
no subject
It is a four-wheeled device, so I can get around, on my own.
