[It's a beautiful morning, shaping up to be a hot and humid day, as so many summer days at the Blind Buffalo Resort are. The piles and piles of people arriving in their cars to check in at the modest front office make it a noisy morning too, full of chatter and greetings from those who have long been apart. There isn't enough room in the office for everyone, so there's spillover of the crowd to outside, and a noise crowd jammed inside the room.

[He smiles...Despite all the dysfunction, it was times like this that made the family worth it.

They arrived at the Parlour.]

[She bites her lip, looking over the selection] There's so many to choose from!

[She leans forward, coming up on the balls of her feet as she surveys the list]

I thiiiiink.... cookies and cream with sprinkles!

Only the best and most sugary for my princess right? [He gets himself a strawberry one as well as Rue's extravagant creation.]

[It's such a lovely day he thinks a slow walk back to the lake is in order.]

[She grins] Thank you, daddy.

[She happily walks along beside him, licking her ice cream cone and trying to keep it from dripping all over her fingers]

Although try not to get any on that top...Your mother would kill me if she found I was responsible for getting any of your good clothes dirty.

[She takes after her father. She squishes her nose and makes a face at him]

If they aren't supposed to get dirty why can I wear them at a camp?

You know Rue honey...It's nice that we can spend time together like this, just dad and daughter.

We don't get to do it as often as I'd like to back home.
