[Thanks to Larry not knowing how to operate a stepladder correctly, Phoenix is currently laid up in bed, blue cast on his right leg, and an endless stream of whining ever at the ready.

He's also incredibly bored. Painting and drawing got old long ago, and he can't seem to stay focused on anything he tries to read. Never mind that he could probably pretty easily get out of bed and actually do something despite his (not very severely) broken leg...

He whines, over-dramatic, into the journal.]

Don't trust Larry Butz, everybody... he'll just break your bones and make you miserable...

...on a related note, come and sign my cast.

[With a bit of apprehension, he adds a filter.]



Um... Trucy? ...mind keeping your uh... old man... company for a little while?

[Good lord but he feels ridiculous even asking this of a teenager he's only just recently met.]

I haven't gone around interviewing people on the best way to take it up the butt, no.

I was under the impression you know what you're doing.

If that is the case, then don't you think it would be prudent to allow me to explain, or...or at least allow me to gauge the extent of your knowledge on the subject instead of trying to convince me that you already know what there is to be done?

I can take a lot when it comes to pain. I just enjoy whining.

[He sighs and nestles back against his pillows, falling uncharacteristically silent.]

...I think it'll be up to you to decide that, too. Being that you'll be... in charge.

Not of the cleansing and acclimation processes of it, no. You will have to let me know when you've finished with that and feel sufficiently comfortable to move on.

Fine, fine... You could be a lot sexier in the way you talk about it, you know. You make it soud like a medical procedure.

I really don't think there is any sort of a "sexy" way to discuss enemas.

[He grumbles and rolls over, facing away from Edgeworth.]

There are sexy ways to say anything. You just need practice.

[But right now, he's feeling sorry for himself losing an argument.]

[He leans in and snakes his arms around Phoenix's torso, spooning him gently and nudging Phoenix's earlobe with the tip of his nose.]

I thought you said you weren't tired.

[takethat]

I'm not.

[He rests his hands atop Edgeworth's arms, exhaling softly. This is probably the most comfortable he's been in a few days.]

...I think my painkillers are starting to wear off, though.

Mmm. That is my cue to get you some more, isn't it?

Nah, don't worry about it.

[Sure, it hurts, but...]
