[Hope you don't mind being interrupted by a tall, lanky British guy! He's wearing that standard ninja uniform, but there's a lab coat thrown over it, and he is carrying STACKS of books.

When he sees her, he gives her a rather goofy smile and chuckles.]

En-enriching your mind too, I take it?

[Hermione feels a little strange in her ninja uniform. Reading about the village has made her a bit more at ease with the situation. She smiles at the man, holding up her own large volume]

Oh, yes. I wanted to know more about this place.

Well what do you know!I've been doing the same thing you know...got all these books hoping to find something interesting about this place.

Mind a reading buddy?

Not at all. We can swap books.

Like the sound of that.
All I've found out is this place is completely controlled by... ninjas.
Pretty interesting. Unfortunately for me there are no labs here.

Oh, also... my name is Wheatley! In case you were wondering.

Yes, it's really quite fascinating. The ninjas in this world are a bit different from what I know of back home.

[Nearby, this girl is doing the same thing, though she's flipping through her books a bit faster, as though she's looking for something specific. Finally, she looks over at Hermione.]

Found out anything useful thus far?

Right now I'm reading about the Hokage. They're the leaders of the village. The monument is dedicated to them.

Really. I'm reminded a bit of Mount Rushmore. "A" for extravagance, but no points for creativity.

Yes, it is very similar to that, isn't it? Interesting how worlds can parallel each other.

Interesting, indeed. I'm personally fascinated by the notion that a position, such as "ninja", could be so succinctly parallel. One would think that, if anything, it would at least have a different name in each world.

Perhaps not. There are some things I've discovered to be universal no matter what world you're from.

Oh, yes! The leaders of the village are called Hokage. Those are their faces carved into the rock.

Well, that makes sense. Hokage, hmm? Are they good leaders?

I haven't read up on all of them yet, but I imagine they must be to earn the respect of trained fighters such as these ninjas.

Well, do they have to really respect them? I mean, you don't really get to choose your leaders, right?

No, I don't suppse they have to respect their leaders. But I think many people do.

[ Duke's looking for books - more specifically, any books in braille.

He's not hoping to find many, but he is somewhat systematically picking books off of shelves and opening them to run his fingers over pages to see where they're kept. Hopefully he isn't being too noisy with it. ]

[who knows if there are any braille books here. Hermione peeks over her volume to watch him]

[ That would be ridiculously frustrating and also completely within expectations. He's just.. going to keep taking books off shelves and searching until he's checked all the shelves he can reach. Because he's stubborn.

... but he hasn't found any yet. ]
