048 Red Letters
[Two years. Two years in this castle and it does THIS to her? Happy fucking anniversary, Nora, have some wings. Oh and by the way you're now FOUR FUCKING INCHES TALL and glow like Rudolph's nose when you fly around.
Yep. This year's out to a fantastic start.
She would have been perfectly happy to sit in her room and sulk until this was over but NO. Thanks to her new diminutive size and ineptitude at flying she ended up accidentally shut out of her own room by her boyfriend. Since sitting on the doorknob and sulking was lame (and cold) she decided that she might as well try to learn how to be less of a failure at flying since she had no idea how long she'd be stuck like this. That being decided she takes off, rolling her eyes only slightly at the red glow that surrounds her as she flies.
So the good news is she's getting better at flying. The bad news is she's still working on, uh, stopping. She turns a corner and realizes too late she's flying straight at someone. Wat do?!]
((OOC: Happy Paraversary, Nora! Feel free to see her/be run into anywhere in the castle))

[If you look closely at the top of your book, Lemony, you may notice two very small hands clutching to the binding. There are two very small hands clutching to the binding as there is a very small fairy hanging off the front of your book trying to recover from having a very up close and personal encounter with it]

[pardon him while he looks around, thoroughly confused. the voice is so small and faint that at first, he thinks it's coming from behind one of the closed doors in the hallway ... and therefore, if they're in need of help, they may not be able to hear him unless he raises his voice]
... Are you alright..!?
[sorry, Nora]
no subject
Just fine and or dandy.

[with that thoroughly manly shriek of horror, he promptly -- yep -- drops the book. he'll feel terrible for it in a moment, to be sure, but in perfect honesty, the last thing one expects out of one's modern fairy tales is ... well ... er ... actual fairies. at least, not when the book is about bears]

He blinks and turns his hand so his palm is flat, and realizes it is actually a fairy.]
Ah... are you quite all right?
no subject
Uh, yeah. I'm still kind of getting the hold of this flying thing.

[As slowly as she possibly could, Chell brought her hands closer to herself and then raised them closer to her eye, so she could get a good, long look at... whatever had grabbed onto her...]
[Chell blinks in surprise as she realizes there's a tiny little fairy clinging to her for dear life, but the surprise is soon replaced by a smile. She likes fairies. When the ones had been hanging around the Castle, she'd always tried to be nice to them. And fairies weren't a threat. She could speak to a fairy...]
"Hello, little fairy. Don't worry. I won't drop you."
[Carefully she moves one hand, as much as she can without dislodging the fairy, to give her an actual place to stand...]
"There. Is that better? Now you don't run the risk of falling."
[And then Chell looks at the fairy a bit more closely...]
"N-Nora? What... happened to you?"
no subject
Hi. Yeah I'm kinda on a loss.
no subject
"Stupid castle. What a horrible loss."
[She can't exactly hug Nora, due to her diminutive size, but she reaches out a fingertip to very lightly pet her hair.]
"Is there anything I can do to help you? You seem pretty miserable. Feel free to sit on my palm as long as you want. I never mind your company."

The second she raises her arm to do just that, however, she blinks hard, and stares down at Nora's face.]
Dude, Nora?

Hi...

[She doesn't even have to ask, but she does so anyway, just in case it turns out that Nora was really a fairy all along or something. Alex wouldn't have been surprised.]
no subject
Whatever gave you that idea? The wings or the fact that I could lead Santa's sleigh?
no subject
[Alex leans back against the nearest windowsill.]

Aradia's headed in from outside, and upstairs through the lobby, where "headed upstairs" of course means "about 20 feet off the ground." Normally one does not run into other people this high up, but normally there are not any other fairies either.
She has just pulled back her hood to let it dry from the snow when she feels a very small impact at her back, and she turns around to see who's throwing stuff, not realizing that in doing so, she may have just gotten someone stuck in the hood.]
What was that?

[Anyway, in her own turning around and finding nobody there, she fails to notice the small movement in her hood, and with a shrug she continues her flight to the base of Terrere Tower. She opens the door remotely so she doesn't have to stop, then closes it behind her in the same way just as her feet touch down on the transportalizer pad. Hope you like that odd feeling of spacial displacement!]

[Ruu chitters in response and scratches his butt, and Aradia resumes humming. But the monkey has noticed something Aradia has not - namely, that there is something moving around in her hood. He comes over to investigate, poking lightly at the moving thing.]
