family reunion day 1;
[It's a beautiful morning, shaping up to be a hot and humid day, as so many summer days at the Blind Buffalo Resort are. The piles and piles of people arriving in their cars to check in at the modest front office make it a noisy morning too, full of chatter and greetings from those who have long been apart. There isn't enough room in the office for everyone, so there's spillover of the crowd to outside, and a noise crowd jammed inside the room.

[Because this family is so distant yep yep.]
May as well, you know! Get to know each other. You know, seeing as we're going to have to get to know each other.
[He holds out a hand.]
The name's Wheatley!

Renee. I'm Gren's sister. [Because he's the one that dragged her here so she assumes someone must know who he is at least.]
no subject
[He speaks as if he knows. All he got out of that was she was probably very distant. He points to GLaDOS. Yeah, that bitch over there I'm sure you got acquainted with.]
Married to that bird over there.
[Hopefully that would make it easier for them to differentiate just how related they are? Probably not.]

What crime did you commit in your past life to deserve that? [...She is not a fan.]
no subject
[Hey Wheats is the better friendlier half. At least he doesn't play mind games.]

[Insert an awkward silence.]
Right. I guess that isn't exactly your definition of entertainment...
[He laughs a little.]
Tell me then. What do youuu consider entertainment then?
no subject
Kick-boxing, mixed martial arts, that sort of thing.
no subject
[He speaks, suddenly understanding. He nodded to himself and crossed his arms.]
So you're a fighter.

[He nods.]
At least... I... I think I did?
[The memories with being an AI and the artificial memories he was fed for this event were conflicting with each other. He puts his hands in his labc oat pockets.]
Defense is important! Always important. Defending yourself. Should be first on the list.
[He raises an eyebrow.]
Are you a good jumper, love?
no subject
Why?
no subject
[A pause.]
You wouldn't... happen to be busy, would you?
no subject
Aside from unpacking? No, not really.
no subject
[He speaks as if it was a new, sudden idea. But it's pretty obvious it wasn't.]
You know... teach me how to... you know...
[Look at that cheesy grin. If you guessed this guy never fought in his life, you're right.]
no subject
You want me to teach you to fight?
no subject
[He laughs a little.]
I-I mean, why not? Can't be that hard, right? Love is helping her sister unpack, which leaves me with a whole bunch of time on my hands in the meantime. Wouldn't mind, learning a few things in the meantime... you know.
[He takes off his lab coat and tosses it along with his still packed bags.]
no subject
You want to do it here? [She glances around the room and all it's furniture.] It'd probably be better if we went outside.
no subject
[He puts his hands in his normal pockets, ready to follow her wherever. He supposed she wasn't so bad. Even if she was a mean bed-snatcher.]
no subject
Put these on and follow me. [She leads them outside and then to a grassy area behind the cabin.]
Do you have any knowledge in defense techniques at all?
HELL YEAH FAMILY BONDING.
Not exactly... I know, only a few facts about it love. Just a few... and uh...
[He scratches the back go his head.]
Yeahhhhh... that's--that's about it.
no subject
[She does a few stretches and motions for him to do the same.] You wouldn't want to pull anything now would you?
no subject
[He begins to copy her movements, obviously not knowing what he's doing. He gets them wrong, but eventually as time passes on, he figures out (for the most part) how to do the stretches right.]
Well for one...
[He speaks as he is stretching.]
Don't let the other person hit you. An important one. Can't forget that one.
no subject
Well, you're not wrong. That's the whole point really. Anything else?
no subject
Ehhhh... that's about it. I'll admit it. Don't know too much about it... but I'll call myself a quick learner. Fast learner, agile too. Oh! Agility! Agility is important.

I am shamelessly making this up as I go...
