Hi. I have this sneaking suspicion that I missed a lot, seeing as it's now January and I think I was kidnapped. So much for my little get together for the new year.

[There's a few metallic clatters here, one of them is drawn out as a ring spins to a slow stop on her desk.]

I also seem to have way more Renaissance-style jewelry than I remember, and that doesn't bode well. Uh, Lucrezia...?

There seems to be a lack of mass confusion, so I'm guessing it was only a few of us that... what? Got stuck in a--I don't even know what that was, really.

Sooooo. Care to fill me in? Anyone? Please tell me I wasn't turned into an old woman or something and just don't remember that.

Yup. But that makes us cooler, really. All darkness and stuff without being dark.

Besides, I wouldn't want anyone like that cooking for me.

For the record, that's my least favorite seasoning. Paprika is a close second.

I was, for a time. It is hard to have that dangled in front of you. You would have raced me there if I hadn't had the will to stop.

But it makes little sense to be angry at you for something you have no control over.

I'm happy you did. If I ever had any doubt in you before this, which I didn't, I definitely wouldn't have any now.

[It's weird that this is comforting.]

You should know me well enough to see when something's up. [Aside from inherit male blindness at times, but that's not his fault.] If anything like that ever happens again, you have my permission to lock me away in whatever room will keep me from getting out and causing trouble.

[He feels almost bad, knowing that she has such trust in him, even he would still kill Rodrigo the second he arrived.]

[Cesare is one thing, Rodrigo is another. But Cesare is the one that's here, so that's what she'll base this on.]

It's a two way street. You trust me, and I trust you. You've earned my trust.

No, but I can't do it all the time. Then you get used to it.

[She'd laugh about how Lucrezia never does, but... nope.]

That is true.

It would be exhausting.

Oh, yeah. Too much love and affection, my jaw would just fall off and there would just be this gross coating of sugar on the floor. And then you'd slip and fall and end up in the clinic.

What are you doing with your jaw, to give such affection?
