[Renee is in the arena waiting for her students to start coming in. One good thing about teaching unarmed combat is that there's not much setting up to do. Really all she had to do was break down the basics and find a good starting point. Simple.

As students come in she'll ask them to line up in rows and stand arms length apart. They're going to need the room to learn their stances first before she pairs them off. The best way to learn is by doing after all.]

[Flynn's walking around Hera cabin checking bunks and picking up some bits of trash on the floor. He smiles and looks at everyone. Hey, man, if he's gotta be a counselor he's gonna act like it... somewhat. He's found a pair of jeans and is wearing those along with that crazy orange shirt he found. He hasn't worn jeans in over 20 years so it's taking some getting used to but hey, when in Rome...]

Alright, there's gonna be a cabin check so let's make sure this place is straightened up, okay? I know, I know, who comes to summer camp to clean their room... especially since we're not exactly here by choice... but would you rather be stuck with extra chores instead of doing whatever you want to do? [He chuckles] Not that the place looks too bad as it is, of course.

Ah, and I'm afraid I didn't get a chance to introduce myself to all of you in the confusion yesterday. I'm Kevin Flynn and apparently I've been assigned to be the cabin counselor. [A smirk] Though I can't imagine why.

[Anyone deciding to take a walk in the woods today may feel like someone's watching them. That's because, well, someone is. Rue's thoroughly enjoying her time as a tree nymph and is spending the day hopping through the tree tops and keeping an eye over the forest and anyone who decides to visit.

In the afternoon she gets curious about the camp proper and finds a good branch on the edge of the forest to sit and watch as she eats some fruit she found. After talking to Martel she's unsure about actually going to visit the camp, but that doesn't mean she can't watch does it? She doesn't bother hiding, choosing instead to sing quietly to herself and swing her feet in the open air as she pulls out her journal.]

[schedules are for people who actually like doing what they're told. at morning reveille, Gale makes his way to the armory, gets a bow and a knife, and makes his way out into the woods.

by mid-morning he's "washed" his bright orange shirt in a mud puddle to make it less obviously visible, and already made a few serviceable snares, setting them low in the undergrowth off the beaten paths. now he's strolling the paths and looking for a proper vantage point. if anyone asks him why he's all the way out here? why, that's easy. he'll just say he's looking for Katniss.]

[If any other campers happen to be heading down towards the canoeing area, they might notice a rather strange thing going on! A girl, who might be recognized as part of Aphrodite's cabin, is currently hanging out on the dock, holding an oar and studying the canoe with a mix of fear and dread. After all, nuns weren't exactly cut out to swim, were they?]

This .. is silly. After all, it's just a floating piece of wood...

[It seems like she's trying to give herself a pep talk.]

But maybe it's because it's just a big piece of wood and I can't exactly swim--

But I said I would take this class, so even if it kills me... Besides, I don't really want to be trying to figure out a weapon right now either..

[Welcome to Calvary Combat class! The first thing you might notice is that your teacher is making no effort to keep you here. If you want to ditch, go ahead. She’s not going to waste her time teaching people who aren’t interested.

 [ For anyone who wanted to take the Equestrian Care Class  here at Camp Demi-God - well, you can come and be part of it, but it's starting early. If you called 9 early, which Vanyel really didn't, but he thought he would be kind the first day. 

But just the first day.

He is standing a bit off from the stables beneath the shade of some trees, Yfandes beside him to act as his partner in the demonstration part of the class. If they needed more, well, there was a stable-full of them not a minute walk that way. She had deigned to roll herself in some dirt this morning so her white coat was a bit dusty - all the better for demonstrating, right? And white was such a hard color to get clean again, you know, so perfect practice!

( she smiles. it's a bit awkward, given the circumstances for the camp being there, but, Annabeth has always risen to challenges and this is no exception. ) Welcome to the Athena Cabin, I'm Annabeth Chase and I'm the cabin counselor. Also, the cabin checks are today and like always, no one wants to be saddled with chores to do for having a messy cabin. So I'm sitting in a canoe but I don't know how to canoe.

This was a really stupid idea.

[If you go to the river, you might find him sitting in a boat with a paddle across his lap and his soaking wet journal on the floor of the boat in front of him, pouting. Because clearly it's very difficult to canoe.]

Can anyone come rescue me? I seriously don't think I'm gonna make it back to be honest with you. I'm getting sort of worried here...
